Hi, I’m Terri Everett a New Zealand registered celebrant and the creator of The Dream Maker NZ and I assists people to experience a memorable significant life event, such as a wedding, an elopement, renewal of vows, baby naming or a farewell.

I originally came from the UK after planning my own traditional church wedding on Dartmoor in 1995 and soon after traveled with my husband Jim on a year long honeymoon adventure, which took us on a road trip for several months while in New Zealand. We later returned to live in New Zealand with our two young sons Peter & Chris and have been here ever since.

I had never imagined I would become a celebrant and in fact didn’t fully understand what a celebrant was in those days, until we started a charter boat business called “Sealimousines” and we’re asked to transport small groups for weddings into the Abel Tasman National Park. During this time I got to know some local celebrants who joined the wedding party on the trips for obvious reasons.

It wasn’t until I adjusted our packages to include event planning that a situation found us a booking for a same sex couple wanting our services for the boat and were excited to learn that I could plan the whole package for them.  At this stage in 2012 same sex couples could only officiate their love in a civil union ceremony, to everyone’s surprise and by coincidence New Zealand legalized same sex marriage pretty much over night.  Excited, I told Craig & Nicholas the great news and their reply was to ask me if I could officiate?  Without hesitation I agreed and to cut a long story short, I jumped through the hoops necessary to make it all official and that is how I became a celebrant and never looked back.

Ever since that stunning day in the Abel Tasman, I realized my niche in creating marvelously intimate celebrations, specifically for a couple only service (elopement) but there is now a growing demand for micro groups of up to 10 - 20 close family and friends to join in the celebrations.

I am an independent celebrant offering an open mind for flexibility to blend in all manor of ceremony that reflects the love and intention of the couple to be married.
